Jumbo Stretch Film vs Finished Rolls: A Buyer’s Guide
Jumbo stretch film and finished stretch-film rolls serve different stages of a packaging operation. Confirm whether you will use the film directly for wrapping or first convert it into smaller rolls.
Jumbo or master rolls: for converting
Jumbo stretch film is supplied for converting and rewinding into smaller rolls. The buyer should match the master-roll specification to the converting equipment and the finished-roll formats being produced.
Do not assume that a jumbo roll will fit a pallet wrapper simply because both use stretch film. Check equipment limits and the intended process before ordering.
Finished rolls: for the wrapping operation
Hand rolls, machine rolls and mini rolls are selected around their end application. The final choice depends on handling requirements, dispenser or machine fit, and the goods being wrapped.
What a converting buyer should specify
- Film width, thickness, color and required net film weight.
- Core internal diameter, core length and the equipment's shaft requirements.
- Maximum permitted outside roll diameter and roll weight.
- The finished roll widths or formats you plan to produce.
- Any special winding or converting requirements to review.
Discuss packing separately
Master-roll packing should be agreed for the roll dimensions, handling method and shipment. The carton presentation used for smaller finished rolls does not define the packing for a jumbo order.
For VISENPACK jumbo inquiries, we confirm the packing arrangement separately rather than applying the finished-roll carton option. Tell us any receiving, pallet-size or handling restrictions when you request a quotation.
Before approving an order
Confirm the full roll specification, the weight basis, the planned packing and the delivery destination. If you are replacing an existing master roll, a roll label and equipment details are useful starting points.
